After a commanding 2-0 start, the Chicago Bears have fallen victim to three straight losses (all to NFC West teams). The season start off promising as the Bears put up 40+ points in two straight wins, but that success didn't last. Rookie QB Jake Brake had a poor showing against the Rams that lead to a 14-21 defeat.
The Bears would go on to face the Cardinals in the desert and would be completely outmatched. The Cardinals out-played the Bears on every level. The lone positive from this 34-21 loss was the re-emergence of Jordan Howard. Howard rushed 12 times for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The Seattle Seahawks came to Chicago for a week 5 matchup. Both at 2-2, this was a critical match-up for both teams in the division race. The Bears started off strong picking off Russel Wilson on consecutive drives. A pick 6 by Jeremy Lane would turn the tide of the game for Seattle. They would take a commanding lead up until the 4th quarter. Jake Brake would lead an incredible 4th quarter comeback and tie the game at 30-30 with 12 seconds remaining. Ricardo would take all of the life out of Soldier Field by returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown. This was a truly devastating loss for the Bears after clawing their way back into the game.
Can the Bears still manage to make the playoffs after starting 2-3?
Will the defense be able to hold up for 11 more games?
Will Coach Fangio be able to keep the team focused after three losses in a row?
Will Jake Brake keep on truckin'?
Only time will tell.
