Hey AMG members! Welcome back to the mock for the upcoming AMG draft. As always thanks to all the guys that are part of the On The Clock team for helping make this possible. We have seen some wild trades in recent days which only makes the draft all the more exciting.
A few teams to keep an eye on are the Bears and Jets who own 4 of the 1st 12 picks in the draft. For the 2nd year in a row, the Dolphins own the 1st overall pick. With a limited number of drafts remaining in the cycle, these picks are all the more important. Is your favorite AMG team going to draft the next Rookie of the Year? Or will their pick get lost in the pages of the AMG history books? As always, thank you guys for reading and supporting our On The Clock content.

“The Lions let both Stafford and AB walk after a disappointing season. With Jackson set to potentially take over QB1, the Lions should jump at the chance to select Calhoun here. He is 6’2’’, runs a good 40, and has the best hands in the class. This would be scary for the rest of the NFC North.”

Dolphins
Devin Brown
DE
The Dolphins went WR 1st overall last year, and the defense responded by being 30th overall and 31st in scoring. Defense has to be the play here. Browns is a powerful and talented DE capable of getting after the QB.
2
Raiders
LeAnthony Green
QB
Green had a pretty good season and was on many teams’ radars in the 1st round. However a 4.53 40 will certainly catch people’s eyes. Carr is gone, and I doubt Minshew is a long term answer. I see the Raiders finding their next QB here.
3
Eagles
Deron Watkins
CB
Watkins may not be on many AMG team’s list this high, but he should be. A 4.39 40 time and the ability to play both zone and man, I see him as an eventual replacement for Slay who turned 31 this year.
4
Jets (from Saints)
Lucas Westmoreland
MLB
We have said enough about how the Jets got this pick. The Jets have somehow become one of the most talented teams in the AMG. However, they could use another MLB next to Cashman and Westmoreland (great name btw) is a great tackler and displayed his athleticism well at the combine.
5
Lions
Evan Calhoun
WR
The Lions let both Stafford and AB walk after a disappointing season. With Tyree Jackson set to potentially take over QB1, the Lions should jump at the chance to select Calhoun here. He is 6’2’’, runs a good 40, and has the best hands in the class. This would be scary for the rest of the NFC North.
6
49ers
Tevin Osgood
QB
Did 6th round pick Lowery show enough in his rookie season to keep him the starter in San Fran? In my eyes, no. Osgood has a big arm, and insane athleticism. If the Lions pass on him, expect the 49ers to pull the trigger happily.

Cards
Cam Barnett
OLB
Trading out Chandler Jones for JJ Watt is kind of a sideways move. The Cardinals paid Harold Landry handsomely but adding Barnett could take their front 7 to the next level. Watt, Landry, Rankins and Barnett would be a formidable force up front.
8
Bears
Tyreke Ali
WR
This roster is crying out for another option at WR for the young QB Slaughter. The Roquan trade has left a major hole on the defensive side of the ball. I don't foresee the Bears would trade a guy like that then taking a defensive player in the top 10. Offense is the play here.
9
Steelers
Floyd Ridley
OT
The Steelers currently have the worst offensive line I have ever seen. After trading for a new QB and RB, they have got to find some protection, unless the GM plans on suiting up at right tackle. Ridley is the most athletic offensive lineman. Though 23, he is an instant starter for this unit in need of help.
10
Bills
Karlos Middleton
DE
The Bills leader in sacks last year had 5 sacks. It isn’t good enough to make the Bills a playoff contender. Middleton is both the strongest and quickest DE in this class. An easy value and need pick for the Bills.

“About the only thing that went wrong for the Jets this offseason was missing on Terron Armstead. Samuel put up 43 reps and is only 21. I see Samuel filling out the Jets offensive line as they look to return to another SB.”

Bears (from Redskins)
James Burke
DT
After putting up the 32nd ranked rushing defense, the Bears decided to deal Roquan Smith which will only hurt matters. 120 yards a game is horrible. The best pick here is a powerful DT to eat up double teams and allow the Bears weakened LB core to at least slow down the run, or it could be a long season against DeAndre Swift, Aaron Jones and Dalvin Cook.
12
Jets (from Seahawks)
Michael Samuel
OG
About the only thing that went wrong for the Jets this offseason was missing on Terron Armstead. Samuel put up 43 reps and is only 21. I see Samuel filling out the Jets offensive line as they look to return to yet another SB.
13
Jaguars
LaMarcus Brinkley
S
The days of Earl Thomas starting for this Jags team are over. I think we see the Florida State man step in and help the Jags get younger at the position. Though young, there is potential for Brinkley to be a good AMG safety with some grooming. Earl Thomas is an ideal mentor.
14
Cowboys
Curtis Tucker
DE
The Cowboys have a pretty major hole next to Dlaw at DE. Tucker has a pretty good tape but needs to prove he is AMG ready. Who better to learn from than Lawerence, who overcame a slow start to his career to become a Pro Bowl DE?
15
Cowboys (from Patriots
Pat Herring
C
The Cowboys taking an offensive lineman? Sure they employ one of the best O lines in the game, but they have a gaping hole that Herring could fill. He is the best center in the draft and a perfect fit for the Cowboys here.
16
Browns (from Texans)
Dalvin Hatcher
DE
The Browns currently don’t have a DE rostered outside of Garrett. You have to think looking to the draft is the plan in Cleveland as they try to keep the wages down for the Baker contract. Hatcher is only 21 and needs to refine his pass rushing skills. Garrett is an ideal partner for the young DE looking to grow his game.
17
Colts (from Ravens via Bears)
Tyler Dalton
QB
I can’t even pretend to guess at the plan in Indy. The once run heavy Colts suddenly went pass heavy last year, only to trade both their QB and RB, in part, for a safety (and TJ Watt). Hooker (strikingly similar to the newly acquired Edmunds) was then traded for this pick. Will we see them going back to a rookie QB after spending all season developing Spencer Pratchett?
18
Giants (from Chargers)
Sammy Ross
DE
The Giants were the surprise story of the AMG after going 12-4. They decided to stick with Jameis and moved Daniel Jones for this pick. I see them selecting Ross to help fill out their defensive line. Ross has some great tape and is a nice fit in the Big Apple.
19
Saints (from Titans)
Deon Childers
CB
Seeing Henry Ruggs and OBJ find homes in the NFC South has to scare Saints fans. Their 27th ranked pass defense needs some help at CB. Childers is a solid zone CB who needs to work on his man coverage. The Saints have to improve their secondary play to keep up in the NFC South.
20
Colts
Brian Alexander
HB
The Colts have an insane offensive line. But who will they be blocking for? WIth no FAs at HB rumored to be in contact with the Colts, the draft has to be the answer. Though I don’t think Alexander is polished enough to be a 1st rounder. He put up the best 40 which will prompt someone to reach for the Toledo man.
21
Vikings
Greg McGriff
CB
The Vikings really could use an upgrade at slot CB. McGriff showed his ability to play lockdown man coverage at Wisconsin. He is a well rounded CB that should be able to find himself starting in the AMG early in his career.

“The Rams would be absolutely laughing to find Burke here. The Vanderbilt pass rusher would find a great home with one of the best defenses in the AMG. He provides power rushing ability and should find life pretty easy with Aaron Donald eating up double teams all game.”

Raiders (from Chiefs)
Tavon Jefferson
WR
The 2nd WR from Texas drafted in the 1st round. The duo lit up the Big 12 all season. Like Calhoun, Jefferson is a big target and a downfield threat. He may not offer the pure speed that Ruggs did, but the Raiders need to grab their new QB a versatile weapon.
23
Rams
Tyler Burke
OLB
The Rams would be absolutely laughing to find Burke here. The Vanderbilt pass rusher would find a great home with one of the best defenses in the AMG. He provides power rushing ability and should find life pretty easy with Aaron Donald eating up double teams all game.
24
Giants
LiAngelo Beasley
OT
I’d like to see the Giants continue to build the offensive line to make life easier for Saquon. Beasley specializes as a run blocker and is good value for this late in the 1st round.
25
Packers
Ty Easley
DT
With the Packers running a 4-3, they could use another DT to pair with Kenny Clarke. Easley impressed with 43 reps and has shown a decent ability to pressure the QB up the middle.
26
Bengals
Bernie Silver
CB
Mike Hughes was brought in to help improve the Bengals secondary play. The AFC North is one of the most aggressive passing divisions in the AMG and the Bengals have to get better on the back end. Silver is a good fit.
27
Dolphins (from Browns)
Ben Blanton
OG
The Dolphins have mostly ignored their Offensive line over the last few years and it showed last season with the 27th ranked offense. Blanton is only 21 and would be a great find for the Dolphins at this spot.
28
Falcons
TJ Wilcox
QB
Do I see the Falcons going back to Matt Ryan after 2 years on the bench? Absolutely not. Do I see Wilcox as a 1st round talent? Absolutely not. This feels silly. But the Falcons believe in their system and value a scrambler so much I wouldn’t rule out reaching for an athletic QB with this pick.
29
Ravens (from Broncos)
Marquise Maynard
OLB
Maynard may not have the pure speed you’d want at OLB, but he has some great tape at stopping the run. The Ravens defense has reached the scary level with Jaire being added in the offseason. Maynard could excel as an OLB in the Ravens system should they be able to look past his 40 time.
30
Panthers
Justin Clement
OLB
Outside of Shaq Thompson, the Panthers have a few questions at linebacker. Clement specializes in stopping the run and wouldn't be asked to do much early in his career in the Panthers 6th ranked scoring defense.
31
Chargers (from Jets)
Theo Carney
TE
Carney may be a bit of a reach here, but he put up an impressive combine. The Chargers haven’t filled the TE spot after trading away Hunter Henry last season. The Chargers now employ one of the AMG’s best defenses, so I see it as a risk worth taking.
32
Bucs
Ben Sanders
OG
Sander is from the University of Florida. Do I need to say anything else? Also the Bucs made a wild trade to acquire Justin Herbert. Giving him the time to throw to Godwin, OBJ and Mike Evans (imagine Mike Evans being your 3rd best WR), would be a good decision.
As always, Thanks for tuning in!
