Chiefs Ink a Huge Trade with Jags

by poohty_t 6 years ago

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Jacksonville Jaguars finalized a blockbuster trade this morning involving star cornerback A.J Bouye and defensive tackle Malik Jackson. The Chiefs gave up their 2019 1st and 2nd round pick along with their 2020 2nd round pick in this deal to the jaguars.  This deal shows the chiefs are in win now mode and their willingness to mortgage their future for immediate results.  Coach Kiki is excited about this trade. When talking to the media, he said “ I am thrilled  and very excited to add Bouye and Jackson to our team. This improves our team tremendously. Adding two high caliber players like Bouye and Jackson will instantly improves any team. Bouye is a star corner and one of the very best in this league and Jackson is one of the best tackle in the league as well.  I can’t wait to incorporate them both into our game plan and get them going”.  Though the chiefs were able to add two great players, they paid a steep price. Giving up a 1st round pick along with two 2nd round pick is huge. But that’s what you have to pay to get a shutdown corner like Bouye and a stud tackle in Jackson.

After this move, the Jacksonville Jaguars is a team to watch for in the upcoming draft as they have loaded up with picks. They currently have two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks in this draft. It’s hard to say who won this trade since one team is building for the future and the other one trying to win now. We have to see how these draft picks pan out for jaguars. One thing is clear; the Chiefs defense is vastly improved from yesterday. They had to upgrade the defense in order to be a contender. Through the first four games, they were giving up way too much yardage and points. The week 5 matchup with the jaguars should be interesting as Bouye and Jackson will be lining up against their former team.
