Best Damn Team Selection Process

Best Damn Madden League Team Selection and Process – Madden 24

1. We will be using a Randomizer for our team selection process via https://www.random.org/lists/.  All psn user names will be pasted into a Randomizer and then the randomizer will be ran 3 times to ensure original order doesn’t determine the results. 

In years that we have multiple lottery balls for a team, The 3^rd order will be the order in which psn names are entered into www.draftpicklottery.com.  Starting Madden 23, additional lottery balls will be earned by winning Super Bowls (we started this at the end of Madden 22 the final year however the winner does not currently have a ps5).   Each owner will receive 1 lottery ball (Straight) and those that had a Super Bowl win in this league will earn an additional lottery ball per Super Bowl win.  One additional lottery ball will be earned by those that stuck with the league the entire duration that Madden season rewarding those sticking with the league with a chance at a higher team selection the following year.  In this scenario, teams will be entered by name and number of lottery balls, then submitted and the derived result will be our order for the Madden Team Selection. 

Either process will be streamed and posted to the chat and also an excel file, then pdf, then ultimately a png file will be created to post the list to our chat. 

2.  Once the team selection list is determined, in order of the list you will select your team you want for Madden followed by the next person, etc, etc, etc until all teams have been selected.  Once selected, this will be your team in this league for Madden 23.  There will absolutely be no trading draft picks and / or players for teams for various reasons (keeping teams legitimate and so there’s no further delays people using excess time bargaining, etc).  Be aware, we may have to establish a reasonable time limit on the selection of teams so if teams aren’t being selected in a reasonable time frame (contingent on our time factor) you may slide down the selection order one pick at a time until you show up to pick. 

3. Once the league begins (after final NFL preseason roster update and if a Title Update is needed that affects more than just gameplay) and invites are sent out you will take the team you have selected and Create A Coach.

4. When everyone has joined on the game we can start the league.  Initial free agency will be started by the reverse order of the randomized list selecting ONE (1) of the first free agents and so on and so forth so those who were unfortunate to pick the last teams get a chance at the best free agents.  This will last one round in the first week of free agency.   After the initial round, owners will be able to select ONE free agent PER preseason week and then the last preseason week free agency will be entirely OPEN to take as many players as you need to round out your roster however we will hold until the next day at a time determined by commishes so people can get rosters finalized to 53 active; and then we can kick off the regular season!

5. As far as abilities, Abilities will be ON however ability edits will be OFF the initial offseason and during each regular  season to maintain player integrity the first season and in subsequent season so people aren’t changing player attributes per game or per opponent.  Submit to a Commish choice of any newly earned abilities if gained new ability slots or if your player reached an overall milestone during the season to obtain a new ability.  Each following off season after a full season from Free Agency until the corresponding regular season Week 1 begins, you’ll be able to modify your abilities for any player(s) however they’ll be turned back off during the regular season so make sure you set the way you want them at that time.
