4th Down Rule: You may go for 4th and short (4th and 1 to 4th and inches) at anytime as long as you are at your 30 yard line or farther. If you are in the grey area of the field (stretching from a 62 to a 53 yard fg) then you may go for it on 4th and 5 or less. If you are trailing in the 4th quarter then it’s entirely up to you when you attempt a 4th down conversion. If you are less than 4th and 5 on your opponents side of the field you can go for it. If you are ahead by 2 scores or more in the 4th Qtr you cannot go for it on 4th down. |
