Justin Jackson: +1 AGI, +2 CAT, +3 SRR; -1 TRK, -2 DRR, -2 SFA, -1 JMP

The Chicago Bears are known for running the ball, with legendary running backs leading offenses throughout multiple eras of football. Whether it’s the all-purpose role of Gale Sayers, the domination of Walter Payton, the patience of Matt Forte, or the vision of Jordan Howard, the Bears have always made it their goal to pound the rock. In steps Northwestern product Justin Jackson, an elusive back that current coaches believe is the perfect compliment to Howard’s bruising nature.

To become the desired “lightning” to Howard’s “thunder,” Bears coaches are asking Jackson to take the next step up as a receiver out of the backfield. While undoubtedly gaining valuable tools from observing former backfield mate Tarik Cohen last season, Jackson has made it clear there’s much more to learn, and to facilitate this learning the team has gone so far as to bring in future Hall of Famer Matt Forte to work to develop softer hands and better route running for him. The Bears are already claiming that the work has paid dividends throughout camp and preseason, and fans are excited to see a kid with this potential get his opportunity.

The addition of Tarik Cohen gave the Eagles a true threat to the outside for the first time all year. Every big play outside needs some great blocking by tight ends and receivers, and Zach Ertz responded to the challenge by upping his game at sealing the edge. He spent a lot of his time in the offseason with center Jason Kelce, who has been dominant at open field blocks his entire career, in an effort to improve his ability in a crucial area of the offense

+2 RB
+1RBF

Darius Leonard was acquired over the offseason to compete due to his ability to play the run. However, in a pass heavy league, he knew he had to improve in coverage to get consistent snaps in a nickel defense. Hoping to take over as the leader and 3-down mike linebacker, he looked to improve his skills in zone coverage and as a linebacker against play action.

+2 PRC
+1 ZCV

Chiefs

Offense:
After acquiring Jimmy G from San Fran, He quickly found out where he’d need to improve this offseason to lead the Chiefs back to the playoffs. Tyreek Hill was bitching at him for underthrows during training camp, so Jimmy G began doing a Driveline throwing program. Coach McDick, having a baseball coaching background, said this was the best way to develop arm strength down the field. Hopefully it pays dividends this season or we could see another change at QB.
+3 DAC (77–> 80)

Defense:
After being told he would be moved to OLB, Kemoko Turay spent all offseason watching film of the great Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson to improve his coverage. He feels like this was the best offseason of his career and hopes to be a big part of this stout Chiefs defense.
+3 Zone coverage (61–> 64)

Offense: WR DJ Moore has shown promise in his first two years in Carolina. Could he be the top tier receiver that Cam has been looking for his entire career? Recent footage has surfaced of Moore working out with former Carolina panther and native Charlottean, Steve Smith. When asked about these secret workouts, Moore responded by saying that he "wants to learn from one of the greatest players to ever wear the Carolina black and blue." He’s left the offseason with + 3 Speed to go along with his physical prowess.

Defense: CB Donte "Action" Jackson has spent a lot of time in the film room with other veterans this offseason. He has had an on and off first two years in the league. He told reporters he wants to become more “cerebral” in the Carolina defensive scheme. He walks into the season with + 3 in Zone Coverage.

Bears defensive selection: CB MJ Stewart Jr
SPD +1 (88–>89), ACC +1 (89-90), JMP +1 (84–>85)

The emergence of MJ Stewart for the Buccaneers in 2019 was a pleasant surprise for a team in need of skilled players, and they capitalized on the jump in Stewart’s value by trading him as part of a package to acquire elite nose tackle Jonathan Hankins in addition to a first round pick in the 2021 draft.

Lauded as a tough, physical corner built to excel in a Tampa 2 zone scheme, Chicago head coach Mr Jefferson has brought Stewart aboard with the goal of developing him into a complete player in the secondary, capable of defending some of the league’s biggest threats at wideout as well as being versatile enough to move to the slot when asked.

To achieve this developmental goal, the first task is a simple yet crucial one: get faster. With the youth and work ethic needed to develop his star potential, Jefferson knows that an improved strength and conditioning staff, along with athletic veterans Kyle Fuller and Kevon Seymour, will lead to Stewart getting the step needed to begin competing with the league’s best offensive weapons.

2nd year LE Kristofferson House spent the entire off-season training. No days off was the motto. He studied the tapes of the best pass rushers in the league and tried to incorporate bits and pieces from the greats into his own game. He's hoping his training will help him get to the QB faster and help his team reach the playoffs once again
+2 Agility
+1 Power Move

2nd year WR Lance Maggitt wants to be more than just Rodgers 2nd option opposite Davante Adams. As much respect as he has for his fellow receiver, he wants to be #1 and he's told him as much. Competition was fierce throughout the off-season and during training camp as both receivers pushed each other having become like brothers and rivals during Lance's rookie season where Adams acted as his personal mentor. Taking the advice of his former mentor, he buried his nose in the playbook and worked on his hands all summer.
+1 Deep Route
+1 Catch in traffic
+1 Spectacular catch
