AFC Power Rankings – As done by G Waffle19
The AFC finished Season 1 with only 3 teams that did not win at least 7 games.  Those teams were Steelers, Ravens, and Chargers, and one of these teams basically forfeited the 2nd half of the season, and do to a dollar store internet connection, has since left DWho.  The AFC is the home of the Super Bowl Champion Miami Dolphins, so that seems like the obvious place to begin.

1.    Dolphins – Luigi (14-2) Super Bowl Champion

Record against NFC (3-1)

Luigi is basically unstoppable.  You need to play a perfect user game and have Madden help you as well, to even come close to winning.  The guy is the best, but is still humble enough that most of the league doesn’t hate him.

2.    Jets – Tosh (11-5)

Record against NFC (3-1)

Tosh whined about the Jets longer than the league has been whining about the Jets for a while, and while he took one for the team, he also dished one out with an 11-5 record.5-1 Tosh might be the best player we have in Madden, but we will never find out, as he is a glutton for punishment taking the Browns last year, and the Jets this season.

3.    Jaguars – Dippy (13-3)

Record against NFC (4-0)

Dippy came out of nowhere and put his stamp on the AFC South and AFC in general.  Did anyone see this coming?  Did anyone see Fournette coming?  With a dominant record vs G Waffle Top 10, Dippy isn’t going anywhere.

4.    Bengals – DK (12-4)

A perennial playoff figure and SB contender, DK is solid all around.  He moves to the AFC North, and I think he was expected a little more competition from his division mates in his first season as the Bengals.   Bengals has a young RB and a young WR core.    I’d expect DK to continue to run the North, and challenge for a SB each year.

5.    Colts – Phoofy (10-6)

Record against NFC (4-0)

Phoof went 10-5 without a running game.  He appears to have filled that hole in the offseason acquiring Jordan Howard.   Coming back is TY Hilton, and he’s almost a lock for 7 catches 100+ yards and 2 TDs.   The question for Phoof, is he a big smoke screen?  A good 10-6, but a lackluster 3-5 record against what I believe is the Top of the AFC will likely hold Phoof back from cracking the upper echelon of the AFC.

6.    Texans – NWS (9-7)

NWS was kind of under the radar all year, starting 1-4 will do that.  NWS was also starting Dri Archer for much of the year, so how serious could he have been?   The defense is suffocating, when they are on point.  After being called out for being a 2 play defensive pony, but an NFC team who he didn’t even play, will the defense take a step forward or a step backward.

7.    Titans – G Waffle (7-9)

Record against NFC (2-2)

G Waffle finished 7-9, but was 7-7 with SIM L’s in the last 2 weeks of the year.  Despite that, the Titans won the AFC QB of the Year and WR of the year, Mariotta and Brown.  Number 7 might be a little high for a 7-9 team, but being that the teams ranked below the Titans lost to the Titans in season 1, or did not play, this is just another example of why G Waffle claims that the AFC South is the best, overall, division in DWho this season.

8.    Raiders – Sun (9-7)

Record against NFC (2-2)

Surprising to see Sun ranked this low after season 1.  When the team selections came out, I’m sure most of DWho expected Sun, with the Raiders, to give Luigi a run for his money.  Then fantasy started to represent reality when Amari Cooper couldn’t get open, or dropped a lot of balls, and Sun’s offense took a long time to start clicking.  I expect Sun to jump up this list drastically after Season 2, but for right now, after season 1, I’d have to say congrats on being in the top 10, but Sun is probably very disappointed.

9.    Browns – Zuke (8-8)

The fact that Zuke took the Browns to 8-8 after season 1 is remarkable.  Zuke struggled against the Top 10 of the AFC, but took care of business when he needed too.  Was Zuke just the benefactor of being in a weak AFC North for season 1, or is he going to build the Browns into a contender to go against DK, first, then Luigi and the rest of the AFC second.   What Zuke has going for him, is he is always tough on defense, so he will be in most games he plays.

10.    Chiefs – Zou (8-8)
Record against G Waffle AFC Top 10 (1-4)
Record against NFC (1-3)

This spot was really a toss up between Zou and SP.  I had my Alexa flip a coin and Zou won.   With playmakers all over the field, Zou should eventually figure this team out, and challenge Sun for the AFC West crown.
