NE are in dire need of a WR1 with Julian Edelman out injured and Marquise Lee operating in the slot. This leaves Cole Beasley as the Pats' only other competent WR, so a large proportion of their catches have gone to TE Rob Gronkowski and HB Dion Lewis.

Crowder is halfway through the final year of his contract and has little value to a Redskins team looking toward more youth and speed at the WR position. Skins will basically send Crowder to NE and move up 20-30 picks in the draft order.
