Raiders ($23M space) send: 16th overall pick this draft Seahawks ($16M space) send: CB Richard Sherman (15.3M salary, $2M penalty)
Seahawks dump some cap room and get a big return on an aging regressing superstar. Raiders lost 2 starting DBs this offseason, and are in desperate need for an instant starter. Shopped around all weekend, and haven't gotten many offers. By pick 16, knowing SBS tendencies and CB scarcity, 8 or more CBs will be likely be drafted by the time #16 comes around. Sherman's an elite CB but on the slow side....due to this height, jumping, man coverage, and press though he's still a valuable and useful CB. A mid first round pick seems like appropriate compensation. Approved. |
