Game Settings
Difficulty: All Madden (Slider adjusted)
Quarter length: 9 Minutes
Multiple season: 2 advances per week
Advance Schedule: Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 PM Eastern Standard Time

Communication Threads
Attendance: If you do not feel you can completely commit to playing a full year franchise, then please do NOT register to be in this league. By you joining, it prevents someone else from being a part of the league that may have been able to fully participate. It wouldn't be fair to them, and it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the league. The Match-up rules of this league certainly allows flexibility for two individuals to find a time to play over the course of a 5 days period and thus eliminating most any excuse for not being able to play a scheduled match.

You are required to post daily in your communication threads until the game is scheduled.

2 Strikes and you're out:
If you fail to play your game(s) in the allotted time, they will be simmed. Conversations in the communication weekly matchup thread will be used to determine who was at fault for not playing the game

Connection Issues

Lag
If the lag in a game is too bad, you must immediately restart your game. If the lag continues, the game needs to be rescheduled at a later time. If an owner is consistently having lag issues, that owner will be asked to fix the problem or will be removed.

Disconnects
If the game is disconnected before each team has had a full possession, start over. If both teams have had a full possession please restart the game from the point of the disconnect.

Example:
The game disconnects with 4:00 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. with the score 21-10. You will work it out with the other owner to get the score back to 21-10 at the same point in the game where it was disconnected.

However, if both owners agree to re-start the game from scratch that is acceptable.

- No restarting against the CPU. Restarting/"Forgetting to upload results" will not be tolerated.

-If you have to leave a game due to emergency, you need to get someone to vouch for you on your score.
-If the game freezes message me or take a pic of your screen or have someone verify your score on xboxlive, do something so you can prove you aren't just restarting.

In Game non-gameplay rules
Headset
Headsets are Mandatory in XLSL league this year. This is a new rule for Madden 16!
**Both players must greet each other in the pre-game screen. If your opponent does not greet you, you can back out of the game, post in the communications thread and receive a sim win. The majority of game play issues are because the players are not mic'd. This years game allows the commish to sim a winner which allows the league to now enforce the headset rule.

Now, you don't have to be talking the whole time. You can come on, greet the other player, say you will be on mute because it's late, or your kid(s) are sleeping, or wife is next to you, whatever. But if there are game play issues the player can unmute and discuss.

If you play a game where the other player is not mic'd, you play at your own risk. If you have any arguments over game play issues the staff will not listen if you didn't enforce the mic rule, or recorded your game.

Trash Talking
Talking trash is one thing, flaming or using defamatory comments is another. This league will NOT tolerate flaming of any kind. Any problems or issues with an opponent should be brought to the attention of the commissioner first to be resolved. If you are reported for flaming by another league member during a game, through e-mail, or the forums, you could be removed.
DO NOT call them out in the forums or LIVE chat . Doing so will get you immediately removed from the league.

Sportsmanship
League members are required to be courteous at all times. Repeated complaining, being a sore loser, or any antics of the like will not be tolerated. We are all mature here and no one wants to sit on the other end of the mic and here you rant about how the game screwed you. In other words, if you get screwed, say "good play" and move on.

Running up the Score
Absolutely not tolerated. This is a sim league and everyone is expected to be respectful of their opponent.

Running Up The Score/Stat Padding vs CPU
If you are up by 4 scores... Take out all starters on offense until the game is over or until the score is within 2 scores. Even using back-ups guys could easily score 40 points in the second half.

Do not score more than 42 points vs the CPU. If the game is close then a detailed list of scores after 42 points need to be posted by the owner.

AGAINST THE CPU:
No QB w/ more than 450 yards passing.
No QB w/ more than passing 4 TD's.

No RB w/ more than 200 yards rushing.
No RB w/ more than 4 TD's.

No WR w/ more than 200 yards.
No WR w/ more than 3 TD's.

If a team goes over the the above the Commish will rule on the penalty. This way the Commish can determine if the owner was doing it to rack up points to lead the league in a stat or just playing a close game vs the cpu. If someone is doing it and they are in the race to lead the league then the penalty should be more on the suspensions. But even if they are not, the suspension needs to be in place to set the standard.

Penalty On The Player That Goes Over The Limit:
QB: 2-3 Games (Commish Picks)
WR: 2-3 Games (Commish Picks)
RB: 2-3 Games (Commish Picks)
TE: 2-3 Games (Commish Picks)

Penalty On The Owner That Goes Over 42 Points:
1 offensive player must sit for 1 game. (Commish Picks)
or
1 defensive player must sit for 1 game. Commish Picks)

If an offensive player goes over the position stat max then that player along with 1 offensive and 1 defensive player will be suspended for 3 games. This is the worst when a team is running it up on the scoreboard and stat padding. Repeat offenders will not be tolerated. It can result in more severe suspensions or being removed from the league in general.

Suspended or Injured real life NFL players:
Are activated in our league.

Gameplay Rules
If you feel your opponent is breaking any of the below gameplay rules, you MUST speak with them first during the game using your mic, not through messaging.

If the problem is not corrected, PM a staff member who will log the information. Repeat offenders will be notified to correct the problem. If the problem persists, the owner will be removed.

Str8/Sim Style
Most importantly, we play a straight, no cheese, sim-style game of football here. If any owner finds certain methods of play to be non-sim, the league may disallow it. 32 man leagues are built on the blood, sweat, and tears of lower ranked teams. It is hard to find dedicated owners that will run with teams like the Jags or the Redskins. We will have no problem replacing the Packers or the Seahawks. A win is a win, don’t try to build stats and don't run up the score. If you have to ask if it is sim, chances are it is not.

If you register to join this league, you are indicating that you have read the above and agree to comply with all the rules, guidelines, and values this league holds.

Offense

Custom Playbooks
We can use custom playbooks. Do not abuse them and only use money plays. Keep it sim, mix up your play calling. This includes running plays as well. Counters should not be the only rushing plays you call. Like everything else mix up your play calls. Slants in strong formation is still slants out of the I formation.

0 WR formations on offense Goalline Defense
You can use formations with zero WRs:
a) inside the 5 yard line
b) 3th and 2 or less
c) 4th and 2 or less

Audibles on Offense
When audibling, you must honor our depth chart rules, meaning you can't come out 4 wide and then audible and have WR's line up in the backfield. Regular audibles should not alter you into a formation that is against league rules (listed two sections above)

QB play
There is no rollout rule. The only rule is you can not fade back more than 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. That means if you pick a shotgun play or 7 step drop play, you only have about 3-4 yards more to fade back.

QB Rushing
Keep it sim. On the average QBs don't rush more than 6 times a game.

4th Down Conversions
You must notify your opponent your intentions on every 4th down before you pick your play. Unless you are running a fake punt or field goal. Tell him if you will punt/FG/go for it. You can go for it on 4th down:
a) anytime when losing in the 4th quarter
b) anytime when losing by 21 points or more OR when winning by 21 or more to avoid running up the score
c) 4th and 1 or inches
d) 4th down inside the 5 yard line
e) between your opponent's 30 and 45 yard line

COACHES DECISION
A coach may choose to go for it once a game that does not fall under the above requirements. They must let their opponent know that this is my one coaches decision for the game.

Killing Clock
You can kill clock in the final 2 minutes of the 2nd and 4th qtrs.

Motion
You must let the player you are motioning clear the down lineman before snapping and you also must let the defense adjust.

No Huddle
You can run the no huddle offense:
a) 1 play per series but not after an incomplete pass
b) inside the 2 minute warnings
c) when trailing by more than 14 points in the fourth quarter

Play Calling (Offense)
You can not use any one play more than once per set of downs. Example: if you pick Single Back HB Dive on 1st down, then you can NOT use that play on 2nd, 3rd, or 4th down. You have to wait until the next set of downs to call that play again. This includes your audibles.

RB Receptions
Your HB should not lead the team in catches for a season nor should they be close. We understand from time to time HBs will lead the team in receptions for a game, which is fine but should not happen often.

FB Dive and QB Sneak
THE FULL BACK DIVE AND QB SNEAK IS BANNED FOR MADDEN 16.

SP Teams
Kick returns - No zig zagging with the return man. No grabbing your deep protection and run him as close as possible to the sideline then follow him with the guy with the ball on the edge.

Do not return the kickoff by starting to run inside and then cutting to the sidelines without a proper juke move.
Fake Punt/Field Goal
You can attempt one fake play per game.

Onside Kicks
You can only use these options when the game situation calls for it, and you MUST notify your opponent before hand.

2-Point Conversions
With the new rule in the NFL this year you can use this options at your discretion. But you MUST notify your opponent before hand.
*We might take the notification option away in the future but right now we're all programmed to instantly select "Block Field Goal."
*We will monitor this new rule and possible make changes depending on what we see.

Line Drive Punting to the side
Punting lines drives that are not fieldable is not acceptable. It is far too easy to do this on a consistent basis and is something that never happens consistently in the real NFL. This is pretty much a straight lobby tactic that will not be tolerated. What i am talking about can be seen at the following link around the 3 minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6R45zNrw-Ak

Defense

Play Calling (Defense)
You are not required to pick a new play every time on defense. We are not trying to discourage using a 'base defense'.

Audibles on Defense
You can not audible down. Meaning, you can not immediately audible after you break the huddle just to get a 3-4 package to play a Dime defense. Defensive audibles are ONLY for adjusting to what the offense is showing you. An easy way to detect if your opponent is doing this, is to closely watch the defense and they break to huddle, and if they reset and start to cross paths again, he is audibling down.

Goalline Defense
You can use Goalline formation on defense:
a) inside the 5 yard line.
b) 3th and 2 or inches.
c) 4th and 2 or inches.

Defensive Player Control
You can control any defensive player. However, if a player you control gets a sack, you can no longer user-sack the quarterback until your opponent gets a first down or new series begins(whichever comes first). This includes click-offs (when your player gets close to the quarterback, you select another player, thus allowing a computer controlled sack).

You can only manually move one player before the snap but you must control that player. The rest can only be moved by positional shifts for example "give cushion" for the secondary.

The D-Line can only be moved by traditional shifts using the shoulder buttons. You may not manually move defensive lineman presnap whether you control them or not.

CFM SPECIFIC RULES

All first year players on your roster when starting the franchise excluding rookies are able to be traded for the first year of the franchise. There will be no sign and trades. If you sign someone off free agency they are unable to be traded. Years 2 through whatever the original first year player rule stands. The rule states all first year players may be cut but not traded.

A trade committee will review all trade proposals after each team accepts the trade on the website. At this point the trade committee will then discuss the trade and pass a ruling. If approved by the committee the teams may send trade via the console.

Your Roster must be set at 53 players, no more or no less, at all points during the regular season or you will not be allowed to play your game.

TWITCH

With the addition and simplicity of the Twitch app, please make the best effort to broadcast and archived your games. We understand the lag situation and if it happens you don't have to broadcast and archive the game.
