Working on getting together a rules committee that will approve new rules or remove outdated ones.

If there is a rule that you'd like put in:
"Remove HB Counter from being used"

or want a rule removed:
"We should still be able to pass in the 4th quarter while being up by 28 or more"

Please post in this thread because it is easier to keep track/have a record of.

Once the committee is put together we will begin to evaluate these rules.

Rules panel so far:
Bucs
Packers
Lions
Seahawks

I am not 100% against keeping things as is, but I have 2 suggestions to bounce off other people:

1. Obviously, I'm the biggest offender of this (Stafford passing for 7,500 yards), but I think the league would be more fun if we outlaw stat padding against the CPU.

Basically, if you are up by enough, don't keep passing. If you are up and the other team has no timeouts with a minute left, kneel rather than trying to pad the stats.

2. Punt rule.

If we are not going to outlaw Strong-Power and the other unstoppable run plays, I think a rule saying you must punt on 4th down if you are on your own half of the field and it's more than 4th and 2.

It's frustrating to miraculously stop those plays and force 4th down, just to easily give up the 1st down on 4th down because there's no way to stop those plays 4 times in a row.

Again, I don't feel strongly enough about these rules to get upset over or anything, but I have had at least 4 guys decline to join our league because we (A). allow repeated use of Strong Power and Counter, or (B) because we don't have any 4th down rules.

I don't think any plays should be banned, but users shouldn't be allowed to spam one play over and over throughout the course of the game.  If you run 20+ 01 traps over the course of the game that's pretty cheesy.

You should also be able to pass in the 4th even if you're up big, but only on 3rd down, to try to keep your o on the field and the clock rolling.

And the "roll out rule."  This is taken verbatim from one of my other leagues because it does a better job of explaining it than I could - A user may roll out with a QB, but, he is not allowed to drag the CB or any other Defensive back down and then throw the ball. A user must roll out and throw straight away or roll out and run and commit to the run.

Edit: "Don't be an asshole"
Same disclaimer as Lions.  I'm not going to quit over any of these rules not being implemented, but they've worked well in other leagues that I'm in

Another thing people I've tried recruiting to this league have said: 9 minute quarters are way too long.

Perhaps we can consider 7-8 min qtrs.

Make sure you have read the forum rules before posting
