I'm in a league that is currently wrapping up its 3rd season. It has become apparent who the good teams are and who the bad teams are. But what has become more apparent is how difficult it is to become good if your bad. Bad teams are littered with low confidence players, which means, despite their overalls, they never play well. When those players play poorly, their confidence continues to fall, you continue to lose, and a league cycle begins. I noticed winning teams in leagues entering year 3 or more, often have many players with confidence ratings well above 50. I know the key is to do what Al used to say, "JUST WIN BABY", but it's hard when players are dropping balls, fumbling, or throwing crazy passes because of their confidence. Am I missing something or do others agree? |

Here is an example of what can happen to confidence: Result: Cleveland 35-3 Chicago. Below are two Cleveland players post game: Johnny Manziel, 12/15, 179 yds, 2 TD. 0 INTs. "I had a terrible game!" -3 confidence. John Potter (K) -Missed FG. -8 confidence.
So it seems even when you win, you still get problems. The whole thing was very badly set up by EA in the first place. Let's hope they have fixed in for M16. Even if they have, no doubt there will be something else...... |
